Across 2024-25, free chlorine there averaged 0.35 mg/L and peaked at 0.90 mg/L; hardness averaged 19 mg/L, which counts as soft; and fluoride averaged 0.73 mg/L. Chlorine's health limit is 5 mg/L, but most people can smell it from around 0.6 mg/L, and more so in a hot shower.
In Doncaster, a filter takes out the chlorine taste and smell at every tap and shower, and catches the sediment that can reach your appliances after mains works. Can the filter go in if my meter sits at the bottom of a steep driveway?
In most cases, yes. We mount the cabinet on a wall near the meter, and that can be the garage, a retaining wall along the fence line or the house. If the nearest wall is more than two metres away, the longer pipe run is quoted before you book. One wide photo of the driveway and meter tells us which applies.
Will a sloping block change the water pressure through the filter?
Your block's slope sets the pressure you already get; the filter doesn't change that. The system uses 20 inch housings and 25 mm connections, sized so the filter itself makes no noticeable difference.
